The project consisted of designing and implementing a web portal for the Academia Pereirana de Historia, an institution dedicated to preserving, researching, and sharing the historical memory of Pereira. The solution combines an institutional website with a digital repository so the Academy can present its mission, regional content, services, publications, and documentary collection through a single accessible digital presence.
The research project emerged from the Academy's limited digital visibility and the difficulty of making its preserved content available beyond its physical facilities. This affected not only the institution's reach, but also public access to cultural and educational resources about Pereira. The challenge was to organize a broad historical collection, communicate the Academy's role clearly, and create an experience that remained usable across desktop and mobile devices.
We developed two connected digital experiences: a public-facing institutional portal and a searchable document repository. The main website introduces the Academy and its regional work, while the repository allows visitors to explore publications and gives authorized users access to administrative content workflows. Responsive layouts, clear navigation, catalog search, and a consistent visual identity make the material easier to consult from different screen sizes and create a foundation for the collection to continue growing.
I took part in the research, design, and implementation of the portal as a collaborative project focused on a real cultural institution.
The Academy gained a digital channel capable of extending the reach of its historical, cultural, and educational work. The portal brings institutional information and documentary resources together, while the repository provides a more direct path for discovering preserved publications. The contribution and its value to the institution were recognized with a commemorative plaque presented to the project team by the Academia Pereirana de Historia.
